Jewelry & Watch Sales to Benefit Charity
This Sept. 11, ShopNBC will donate to charity 100% of the proceeds of its live broadcast sales of the "Love, Peace and Hope" fine jewelry and timepiece collection made by New York artist Udi Behr. All proceeds will support the rebuilding of a school and a firehouse near where the World Trade Center Towers stood.
Behr started "Ground Hero Kids" to benefit local children affected by the attacks last year. His 10-year-old daughter Sapier attends school nearby.
This is the first time ShopNBC has undertaken a retail endeavor of this type. ShopNBC vendors will also donate a portion of their proceeds to their designated charity for children.
"Everyone wants to help and I think ShopNBC will give people the opportunity to do so," says Behr.
He will introduce his collection on-air from noon to 2 p.m. and appear again from 6-8p.m. eastern time. The jewelry collection is designed for fine jewelry maker Oro Alexander Inc. and the timepiece collectionfor watch manufacturer Lucien Piccard.
