Marketing Executive Dies

Al Jaffee, founder of the Al Jaffee Marketing Group, died Aug. 14, 2002, in San Diego, CA. He was 86.

Jaffee was known within the jewelry industry as a sales and marketing innovator. After serving in the U.S. Army in World War II (he was on Omaha Beach when the allied forces landed in Normandy), Jaffee joined Feature Ring Co. as a sales executive. He then worked as marketing director of Original Designs Inc. before forming his own company in New York City. The Al Jaffee Marketing Group was retained by jewelry manufacturers to create promotions and marketing programs. He trained salespeople and developed sales tools for Stuckey Co. and wrote about marketing and sales for JCK magazine.

Jaffee is survived by his wife Laura, and three children.
