Rechner Appointed President of Swiss Army Brands

Susanne Rechner on Monday was officially appointed the president of Swiss Army Brands, Inc., Shelton, CT. Her promotion comes as the firm becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swiss Victorinox A.G., the Switzerland-based manufacturer of Victorinox Original Swiss Army Knives. Victorinox promoted Rechner from her position as senior vice president at Swiss Army Brands to the position of president after it completed its purchase of Swiss Army Brands outstanding stock.

As president of Swiss Army Brands., Rechner will have operating responsibility for guiding the growth of the company's core Victorinox Knife and Swiss Army Watch businesses, as well as working with the company's licensing partners to support its travel gear and apparel businesses. Swiss Army Brands employs approximately 300 people corporate-wide. She will also continue to serve as the chief executive officer of Victorinox Swiss Army Watch, Bienne, Switzerland, the international marketer and distributor of the Victorinox Swiss Army Watch brand.

Rechner joined Swiss Army Brands as senior vice president-retail division in August 2000. She has overseen a complete re-design of the company's watch collection, instituted a direct national sales team and generated 30-percent growth in Swiss Army watch sales.

Prior to her association with Swiss Army, Rechner was vice president-national accounts for Movado Group, Inc. and prior to 1997, was associated with Seiko Corporation of America.
