JA Redesigns Site

Jewelers of America redesigned its Web site, jewelers.org, to give it a new look and more features. The site is divided into two sections. One is for consumers, who can shop online for jewelry, and a password-protected industry section for members of the jewelry trade. Retailers can place orders online for JA products and services.

The consumer section contains fine information about jewelry, gemstones and JA and its Code of Ethics program. There's a store locator consumers can use to search for a local JA member store. The new Shop Online feature allows consumers to search for jewelry products; view pictures, prices and product information online; and link to JA member stores to place orders. Only JA member retailers who have a Web site and online catalog through JNet (an online service affiliated with JA) are included in the product search feature.

The trade section has information about JA's products and services, divided into four areas – education, certification, marketing and member benefits. Jewelers can order all products and services online, including in-store educational materials, brochures and leaflets. Jewelers who don't want to order online can print order forms to mail or fax JA.

A members-only section contains information for JA members on the latest industry issues; archives of JA publications such as white papers, "The J Report" membership newsletter and press releases; and access to additional benefits that are only available to JA members.

Access to industry professionals and members-only sections is by password. Get a user name and password by filling out an online form or calling JA at (800) 223-0673.
