Israeli Diamond Industry Expands Basel Presence
The Israel Diamond Institute will take advantage of the Basel Show's two-city format with its first-ever national diamond pavilion in Zurich. This pavilion is in addition to IDI's regular booth in Basel. The Israel Diamond Pavilion in Zurich's Hall 2 will encompass 10 Israeli diamond manufacturers and exporters.
The IDI booth in Basel will be in Hall 3.0, stand F50. This year it will include showcases where diamantaires will display their goods and offices inside the booth for meetings. Background information, photos, and films on the diamond industry in Israel will be available at the booth. Israeli diamond companies will also exhibit independently in Basel's Hall 3.0. IDI will host its traditional breakfast press conference on April 4 at 8:45 a.m. in the Osaka-Samarkand Congress Room at the Basel Convention Center.
David Bar-Haim Rutlinger, IDI's deputy managing director for business development, says Basel will present a unique opportunity for potential buyers. "We have ensured the pavilion will have all of the amenities needed to do business," he says. Moshe Schnitzer, IDI chairman, is looking forward to a positive year for the Israeli industry. "We've proven Israel is a major force in the world diamond market," says Schnitzer. "We expect the Israeli diamantaires will enjoy a very positive reception at Basel, as they have at the other trade fairs. Our experience has been that once the buyers meet the Israelis they will want to do business."
