New Vegas Show to Open Next June
The Strategic International Jewelry Show, a new international jewelry show for the U.S. market, will be held June 3-6, 2004, in Las Vegas. The show will be in the new convention center at the Mandalay Bay hotel. The show is run by Strategic Events Inc., Downingtown, PA.
The show will feature international jewelry manufacturers, who are often hampered by the space limitations of most U.S. shows, says show organizers. This prevents them from offering their entire product line to the jewelry retailer or presenting themselves in an appropriate manner, says James Reed, president of Strategic Events. "The international jewelry manufacturer has never been given proper exposure at jewelry shows in the United States," he says. "We want to change that. The Strategic International Jewelry Show provides each country and each exhibitor in that country with the space they need to properly promote their products." The show expects exhibitors from such jewelry-producing areas as Asia, Europe and Australia.
Reed has 20 years of trade show experience, including 10 years in the jewelry industry. He was a founding manager of The JCK Show in 1992. Reed was an integral member of The JCK Show planning team for seven years prior to its purchase by Reed Elsevier. In 1998, he moved to Professional Jeweler to manage its jewelry events. After leaving Professional Jeweler, Reed founded Strategic Events.
