Gem Conferences Set for Fall

Three gem conferences will take place in October and November. Rapaport USA is holding its inaugural Rapaport International Diamond Conference Oct. 20 at the New York Palace Hotel in New York City. Travelers to the Antwerp Diamond Conference in Belgium, scheduled for Nov. 3-4, might want to stop in at British association Gem-A's annual conference, to be held Nov. 2 at Kempton Park Racecourse in the United Kingdom. The event attracts an international gemological audience. Speakers this year include Gemological Institute of America President Bill Boyajian giving a keynote presentation and gemology update, with Swiss gem lab SSEF's Henry A. Hanni also slated to speak. American designer Paula Crevoshay, English precious metals expert Jack Ogden and Government Diamond Office official Clive Wright, a Kimberley process participant, will also give lectures. The event will be chaired by Gem-Ašs president Professor Alan Collins and chief executive Terry Davidson.
