Scott Kay Sterling Launch Breaks Saks Attendance Record

Designer Scott Kay and In Style joined last week to present his new sterling silver line at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. It was the best-attended personal appearance at Saks since the opening of its new expanded jewelry department several years ago, says Scott Martin, fine jewelry buyer for the store.

Over 24 feet of showcase space was accented by 14 backlit jewelry and logo images plus two large LCD screens featuring video of Scott Kay Sterling. The overall visual created an impact that resulted in heavy counter traffic and sales. Kay appeard at the opening to introduce the line, which he developed this year.

"Saks was extremely excited with the record-breaking attendance from the Scott Kay Sterling launch and is proud to be associated with what will clearly be a successful venture," says Sue Ann Newberg, vice president, divisional merchandise manager, fine and fashion jewelry for Saks Fifth Avenue.

Kay developed the sterling line with what he calls a platinum approach, one he learned developing his popular platinum collection. All aspects of the sterling collection feature a weave design with an interlocking pattern.
