Valentine's Day Spurs Food and Love Promotions
Affluent buyers increasingly want memorable experiences while acquiring their luxury goods. Several jewelers around the country have heard the message. This Valentine's Day, Schwarzschild Jewelers, Richmond, VA, and Wesley's Jewelers, Scottsdale, AZ, are providing a dramatic backdrop for buying diamond gifts by placing them within the context of romantic dinners. The diamonds-with-dinner trick is an old ruse, but today's jewelers are spicing up the gesture in creative ways.
The Schwarzschild Engaging Martini is served at Bookbinder's, a restaurant near the store, costs $12,800 and includes a romantic dinner for two with flowers, chocolates and a 1-ct. Schwarzschild Mastercut round brilliant, D VS1 diamond in a classic platinum setting. The engagement ring is in a blue "Lulu" martini glass made by high-end glassmaker William Yeoward and comes with a companion glass. The glassware line is available exclusively at Schwarzschild Jewelers.
"There are a lot of men, who are romantics at heart, who would love to propose to their girlfriend in an extraordinary way but have no idea how," says Merritt Mayher, president of Schwarzschild Jewelers. "The Schwarzschild Engaging Martini was created with those gentlemen in mind. Now they can make one call to Bookbinder's, all the arrangements will be taken care of and they'll be a hero forever."
Across the country in Scottsdale, AZ, Wesley Jewelers partners for a second year with The Scottsdale Plaza Resort to feature its Diamonds for Dinner event. From Jan. 15 - Feb. 13, ordering a lunch or dinner entree at Remington's Restaurant at the resort gets diners an entry form for a chance to win a $5,000 diamond bracelet. A portion of the entree sale's proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association in honor of Valentine's Day.
Provided by Bob Wesley of Wesley's Jewelers in downtown Scottsdale, the bracelet more than 2.0 carats of white and natural canary yellow diamond set in white and yellow 18k gold.
This year's random drawing will be the morning of Valentine's Day and presented to the winner during a complimentary dinner for two at Remington's Restaurant that evening.
