Atlanta Show Reports Attendance Bump

The Atlanta Jewelry Show, held Feb. 28-March 1 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, had an 11% increase in attendance over last year's show, says the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association, the managers and producers of the show. SJTA attributes part of the increase to the launch of the "You Buy, You Fly" buyer loyalty program, in which buyers earn Delta SkyMiles based on orders at the show.

The "You Buy, You Fly" program is the only trade-show loyalty program of its kind in the jewelry industry, says SJTA, and credits the program bringing many first-time attendees to the show.

"The February show was one of the best attended shows in the history of SJTA," says Carol Young, executive director of SJTA.

The show also recognized winners of the new Jewelry Design Competition. SJTA partnered with the Savannah College of Art and Design to launch the competition to recognize the school's metal and jewelry students for outstanding work. Other popular show features were the "Tanks On Us" program, giving preregistered attendees a free gas card, and the festive "Around The World" themed buyer party.

The Atlanta Jewelry Show will return to the Cobb Galleria Centre August 7-9, 2004. For more information, call SJTA at (800) 241-0399 or (404) 634-3434; info@atlantajewelryshow.com.
