Harry Winston Names New Marketing Chief

Susan Korb was appointed chief marketing officer at Harry Winston Inc., the diamond jeweler headquartered in New York City. Korb will officially join the retailer in July. She is currently working as president of international publishing house Assouline. Korb will report directly to Thomas J. O'Neill, CEO of Harry Winston and president of Aber Diamond Corp., a Canadian company which acquired controlling interest in Harry Winston in April. Aber owns a 40% stake in Canada's Diavik diamond mine as well.

"We are very excited to have Susan join Harry Winston as our chief marketing officer," says O'Neill. "She brings precisely the right mix of brand-building experience and keen knowledge of the luxury market to help us achieve our goals of revitalizing the Harry Winston brand on a global basis."

Korb began her career in luxury retailing at Tiffany & Co., where she spent 17 years, last as head of marketing communications. In 1997 she moved to senior vice president of marketing for Christie's International, managing London and New York City operations.

Along with Harry Winston's New York Fifth Ave base, it has retail operation in Beverly Hills, Paris, Geneva, Tokyo and Osaka. New Harry Winston salons will open in Las Vegas and Taiwan in Fall 2004.
