Catwoman Pounces on Right-Hand Ring

The Diamond Trading Co. and Warner Bros. Pictures will team for a new promotion for right-hand rings hinging on a scene in the movie Catwoman starring Halle Berry, which is scheduled to hit theaters in July.

During the scene, Catwoman puts a diamond ring on her left hand, but reconsiders and moves it to her right. This moment will be supported by new versions of the "Women of the World, Raise Your Right Hand," ad campaign, featuring a picture of Catwoman wearing a right-hand diamond ring. The ads will run in consumer publications between July-September.

"Catwoman is a perfect fit for us," says Sally Morrison, director of the Diamond Information Center. "She personifies all the attitudes and values of the woman who owns the diamond right-hand ring: strong, beautiful and stylish; sophisticated as well as sexy."

"We feel the concept behind the right-hand ring reflects Catwoman's spirit of confidence and independence," says Louise Soper, vice president of national promotions for Warner Bros.

Separately, is hosting a promotion June 10-Sept. 15 giving entrants the opportunity to win one of four diamond right-hand rings made by the Stuckey Co. These right-hand rings will be themed with romantic, floral and modern motifs.
