Leviev to Speak at Couture Diamond Conference

Lev Leviev, internationally known diamantaire, will be a guest speaker on Oct. 14 at the Couture Diamond Leadership Conference. The conference is taking place in New York City on Oct. 13 and 14, following the Gemological Institute of America's League of Honor dinner on Oct. 12.

Leviev is listed by Forbes as being among the world's wealthiest people. His holdings include interest in several diamond mines in Angola and mining licenses in the Urals and in Namibia, where he recently opened a state-of-the-art cutting factory. Leviev and Bulgari recently announced a joint venture agreement to establish a company with the objective of further developing the diamond jewelry business of the Bulgari and Leviev groups. "Mr. Leviev's participation reflects the significance of this first Couture Diamond Conference," says Nancy Robey, group brand director, VNU Jewelry Group, Couture Jewellery Collection & Conference. "He will be a great draw." The topic of his talk will be announced at a later date.

Other speakers at the conference include Donald Trump, Forbes president and CEO Steve Forbes and Maurice Tempelsman, chairman of the board of Lazare Kaplan International.
