J.C. Penney To Sell Moissanite Nationwide
J.C. Penney, one of America's largest department store, catalog and Internet retailers, and Charles & Colvard Ltd., the manufacturers of created moissanite, agreed to sell the manmade stone in J.C. Penney stores nationwide.
Moissanite was discovered more than 110 years ago in a meteorite. Through advanced technology,Charles & Colvard recreates this stone for use in jewelry.
"Moissanite brings new meaning to the phrase 'affordable luxury,'" says Beryl Raff, J.C. Penney senior vice president and general merchandise manager for fine jewelry. "It's the ideal choice for women who appreciate fine quality and expect exceptional value. It's a great way to reward yourself."
Through its collaboration with Charles & Colvard, the Fine Jewelry Store at J.C. Penney is the only national retailer offering the jewel to its customers.
"Women tell us they get more compliments on their moissanite jewelry than on any other pieces they own," says Robert S. Thomas, CEO and president of Charles & Colvard. "Women don't buy moissanite 'instead,' they buy it because they love it."
The complete moissanite collection for women and men features rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings set in 14k yellow and white gold. The collection is available in 460 J.C. Penney department stores nationwide, in J.C. Penney catalogs and at www.jcpenney.com. Charles & Colvard representatives will also hold moissanite trunk shows at selected J.C. Penney stores through December.
