Van der Kallen New Ebel Chief

Former Piaget and Baume & Mercier President Thomas van der Kallen has been named the new worldwide President of Ebel, the luxury watch brand purchased last December by the Movado Group. Van der Kallen will join the company in mid-January and will report directly to Efraim Grinberg, president and chief executive officer of the Paramus-based Movado Group.

Van der Kallen was most recently president of Piaget North America and prior to that was vice president of marketing and then president of Baume & Mercier North America. He joined Richemont, the parent firm for both these brands, in 1990 as director of sales and marketing for Piaget and Baume & Mercier for the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

"We are delighted to welcome Thomas to our company. With his deep knowledge of global luxury brands, Thomas will be a valuable addition to our senior management team," said Grinberg. "Under Movado Group's ownership, great strides have already been made toward revitalizing Ebel and returning this prestigious luxury watch brand to its rightful place in the market. I am confident that Thomas, and the strong team we have in place under his leadership, will capitalize on the progress that has been made and position Ebel for long-term success."

Movado Group Inc. designs, manufactures, and distributes Movado, Ebel, Concord, ESQ, Coach and Tommy Hilfiger watches worldwide and operates Movado boutiques and company stores in the United States.
