Gap Selling Jewelry, Other Accessories

Gap Inc. is experimenting with selling accessories, including jewelry, as a separate category. It opened an accessories shop at its Fifth Avenue and 54th Street flagship store in Manhattan, according to Display & Design Ideas. It joins luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton in discovering the jewelry category.

The 800-sq.-ft. store is dubbed "Love," a name inspired by customer comments such as "I love my Gap bag," according to a statement. The store features a new interior concept, as well as specially designed packaging to house the accessories. The shopping bags display the "Love" logo in the style of the original Gap blue box. Merchandise in the shop includes bags, hats, scarves, gloves, shoes, hosiery, belts, pins and brooches. Gap is headquartered in San Francisco.
