AGTA Goes to Vegas

The American Gem Trade Association's GemFair Cultured Pearl & Jewelry Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas opens and closes one day before the main JCK show. The AGTA pavilion is open June 2-6. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on June 2 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on June 3-6. AGTA says the pavilion will have more than 200 exhibitors offering a wide selection of natural colored gemstones and cultured pearls.

On June 2, AGTA will feature "Gem Day" in the pavilion. Highlights include a buyer reception offering complimentary beverages and light hors d 'oeuvres from 2-4 p.m. and seminars focusing on color and fashion presented by industry leaders.

"Fine colored gemstone jewelry has become an integral element of a woman's overall look," said Douglas Hucker, executive director of AGTA. "What a lot of consumers aren't aware of is that you can get fine jewelry that looks like it came right off the runway without spending a fortune. Virtually every color of the rainbow can be found in colored gemstones in a wide variety of price points." Hucker noted colorful jewelry was an important part of a number of apparel collections this year.
