LVMH Jewelry and Watch Numbers Up Sharply

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton luxury products group said its watches and jewelry division posted sales of $479.3 million in the first nine months of 2005, an increase of 13% over the corresponding period in 2004 and an increase of 16% on a comparable-store and exchange-rate basis.

TAG Heuer and Zenith saw rapid development in the U.S. and Asia. Among recent launches were the new Carrera and the Golf watch by TAG Heuer and the Starissime tourbillon by Zenith. The watch Christal, by Dior, was exceptionally successful, LVMH said.

LVMH has annual sales exceeding $20 billion and 1,700 stores worldwide. The group saw an overall 11% increase in sales to $11.4 billion in the first nine months of 2005. On a comparable store and constant exchange rate basis, LVMH's overall sales increased 12%, compared to the same period in 2004. The group saw solid sales growth across all business units in Asia, Europe and particularly in the United States.
