De Beers To Keep Diamond Prices Unchanged

The Diamond Trading Company (DTC), De Beers' marketing arm, announced this week that it plans to keep its rough diamond prices unchanged at its third 2006 sight this week.

The DTC increased prices for rough diamonds by less than 2% at its sight in February, at which time De Beers said it had identified opportunities for growth this year.

De Beers says it expects the global market for diamonds to grow by 7% in 2006, compared to a 6% to 7% growth in 2005.
