Jacob the Jeweler Pleads Not Guilty
Jeweler-to-the-hip-hop-stars Yakov Arabov, known as Jacob Arabo or "Jacob the Jeweler," pleaded not guilty to money laundering charges Wednesday.
Arabov was arraigned before a U.S. Magistrate judge after his arrest in June at his New York City store on a Detroit warrant. Arabov is accused of conspiring with 15 other people to launder money in connection with a jewelry business, according to wire reports. Authorities say the 16 people indicted are connected to a drug ring named the Black Mafia Family.
Arabov is well-known for outfitting music stars such as Sean "Diddy" Combs, Kanye West, Madonna and Sir Elton John with jewelry.
