Boyajian Named Managing Director of World Jewelry Center
Probity International, the high-end real estate investment and development firm that is building a World Jewelry Center (WJC) shopping complex in Las Vegas, Nev., has named former Gemological Institute of America President Bill Boyajian as president of the WJC, effective immediately.
The WJC, scheduled to open within the next four years, will be the tallest office building in Las Vegas and is intended to be a global destination for consumers, tapping into the more than 40 million people who visit Las Vegas each year. Probity is hoping to attract major manufacturers, dealers, trade associations and wholesalers in the gem, jewelry and watch industries.
"Bill Boyajian's acceptance to take charge of this most exciting project is another vote of confidence for the city of Las Vegas as a major future destination for the gem and jewelry industry," says Robert Zarnegin, president and CEO of Probity International.
"I am delighted to join the World Jewelry Center project," says Boyajian, who resigned from GIA in May after 20 years as the institute's president. "I'm excited about the opportunity, inspired by the vision, and confident in the project's fundamentals."
The World Jewelry Center will be built on 5.3 acres in Union Park, a mixed-use, master-planned urban center in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, adjacent to the World Market Center and the Las Vegas Premium Outlets mall.
