JIC Creates Online Survey Panel of Members
In an effort to better understand regional markets, how jewelry and watch trends translate to sales and how the selling power of trends varies by region, Jewelry Information Center (JIC) has created an online survey panel of members.
The survey panel includes more than 350 jeweler participants from across the country. The panel asks jewelers to answer key questions about fashion, product and marketing trends affecting their businesses. The panel is part of a larger JIC initiative to explore ways to reach out to non-traditional jewelry consumers.
"JIC will use the information gathered from this ongoing survey to better serve the industry, turning those trends into tools that retailers, designers and manufacturers can use to better their businesses," says Myriam Gumuchian, chairperson of the JIC board of directors. "The more we know about our industry the more we can all grow."
JIC has conducted its first survey of the panel and will begin regular surveys in September. From the results of the first survey, JIC published the report "The he Changing American Jewelry Buyer: Preparing Your Organization to Market to the Shifting Demographic." The report is available to JIC member cmpanies and addresses how changes in media, technology, advertising, sales techniques, and the economy all affect sales of fine jewelry and watches.
